I participated in the MIT Solar Powered Vehicle Team my freshman year. I mainly did machining working for the team. This was how I learned my way around all the machine shops at MIT.
I also made a crude model of Manta GT's front suspension in a parametric modeling program called Design View. I enjoyed Design View. Alas MIT was phasing out the DEC stations at the end of my freshman year, these were the only computers that ran Design View. I have yet to find a replacement for it. I'm sure there is one out there. I know that there are a ton of more complicated software packages. Well enough reminiscing about software of yore.
